The LNA is intended for use on K band SATCOM antennas operating around 20 GHz for reception. The LNA has two operating modes; normal and “turbo”. The difference between the two modes is the noise figure performance. In “turbo” mode the noise figure is significantly reduced (by a factor of 3) compared to “normal” mode by cooling the LNA circuit. The intended application of this LNA is for critical data communications, when it is necessary to boost the performance of the receiving system for certain periods of times.
