Arralis

Arralis has developed world-leading expertise in Radio Frequency, micro and millimeter-wave technology.

Tucana: 94GHz Chipset

The Arralis Tucana range of multi-stage MMIC devices are fabricated on a robust gallium arsenide 50um substrate. The devices are supplied as die and enable the realisation of a complete 92-96GHz radar system front end with C/X band inputs and W-band outputs. All bond pads and the die backside are Ti/Au metallised, with a fully passivated amplifier elsewhere.

The MMICs are all compatible with conventional die attach methods, as well as thermo-compression and thermosonic wire bonding, making them ideal for MCM and hybrid microcircuit applications. All data shown herein is measured with the chip in a 50 Ohm environment and contacted with RF probes.

Tucana: 94GHz Power Amplifier

The power amplifier is a three stage device offering 12dB of stable gain and delivering +23dBm of saturated output power from a 4V supply.

HF_MMIC

Tucana: 94GHz LNA

The Low Noise Amplifier is a four stage device offering 20dB of stable gain with a noise figure of less than 5dB with a 2V supply. It can also deliver 10dBm saturated power.

HF_MMIC

Tucana: x8 Multiplier

The Times-Eight Multiplier is a unique device with high sub-harmonic rejection and an output power of +13dBm.

HF_MMIC

Tucana: 94GHz Switches

There are two switches available, SPST and SPDT, both have very low insertion loss and very high isolation.

HF_MMIC

Tucana: Up-Converter

The Up-Converter is a star mixer with amplifier to minimise loss and maximise image rejection. It has an LO range 86-92GHz.

HF_MMIC

Tucana: Downconverter

The Down-Converter is an active mixer with low conversion loss and LO breakthrough filter making it ideally, but not exclusively, suited for pulse radar applications.

HF_MMIC

Tucana: 94GHz Recieve Module

The receiver module has a WR10 waveguide connection for an antenna, with an added switch it could be used as a radiometer with noise calibration. The Local Oscillator input is an ~11GHz signal at about +13dBm and the IF output frequency is DC-6GHz. The receiver noise figure is better than 5dB.

HF_MMIC

Tucana: 94GHz Transmit Modules

The transmitter module is available in two forms, one that has a single ~11GHz input that is multiplied up to 92-96GHz and one that also has a mixer input for phase coherent applications. The output power, saturated, is +22.5dBm.

Our Capability Offering

Modules can offer an easier gateway to our customers product development and bread-boarding. We also develop multiple custom modules for specific customer requests. The fact that we produce MMICs and Modules under the one roof gives us a significant edge over our competitors. We like to pass this edge on to our customers
